Product Description
The name Terra Blanca, Latin for white earth, is named for the An early bud break followed by a relatively warm growing season lead to a harvest that was 10 to 14 days ahead of typical. New clones and varietals make their introduction into wines with this vintage. Our estate vineyard is completely picked early, so the plants were more able to withstand the 14 degree temps at the end of October than many other regions in Washington. Resulting wines are more approachable when young, but have nice structure and depth. The name Terra Blanca, Latin for white earth, is named for the high calcium carbonate content that whitens soils of our Red Mountain vineyard and helps produce the incredible depth and structure in the grapes. The first grapes were harvested from our estate vineyard in 1997
